The idea for What Works is to talk about different items in the context of how I use them at work. I won’t tell you exactly how many consultant firms I went through to arrive that concept, but it was less than one. ;-)
I hope to get further into the details, motivations, and experiences that make certain things valuable, or not, for work. Some of my use cases may not connect with anyone else’s and others may be blindingly obvious. Either way, I like diving into the specifics of the personal stationery & related items we choose to use at our jobs. It’s part of what Tom Bihn means by their tagline of portable culture, which is a concept I think applies to all of at some level.
