Gone from last time: Lamy Studio and Pilot Legance 89S. The Kaweco Student stuck around with a different nib and different ink.
The Lamy 2000 got picked for journaling duty with a wide nib and orange ink. Sailor Massachusetts can show off in a nib like this. After putting the 2000 into action I realized I had goofed in a way. I already had a wide nib with orange ink going in the form of the Student. I wanted to keep using the Student since I’ve enjoyed it in the last week and a half. So, out came the 1.1 nib and in went the fine. Fire on Fire made way for Ham 65, which is a nice blue that stands out just enough.
It’s been a couple of months since I had a Decimo inked, which isn’t the norm for me. Since the Student has a fine nib installed, I used a medium nib in the Decimo. The ink choice of Herbin Lierre Sauvage had no particular motivation but it works out well with the Decimo’s generous flow.
Just under two weeks until the Commonwealth Pen Show. I’m working on a shopping list that I can detail next week. The show is at a new location this year and we’ll see how that works out. Parking is not on site so one must walk to the venue from a lot or from train/bus stops. Let’s hope the weather is reasonably dry.
Clearing out a lot of unused notebooks. More on that later this week.
We’re going headlong into the busiest time of the year at work. Back to school, football season, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It’s all rushing straight at us. I plan to use writing to break away from the chaos more than I did last year. Plans are good. Realizing them is better. I know I can get small bits of time more easily than large ones. No amount of writing should be considered too little. No time spent writing should considered be too short. The small bits must be made to count because there’s no guarantee of getting anything more.
